On November 8th at around 814 hrs, the RFFC, Wakefield Ambulance, and the Community Fire Co. (Rising Sun) for an ambulance were dispatched to the intersection of Robert Fulton Hwy and Black Barren Rd for a vehicle accident with unknown injuries.
On Sunday November 7th, Assistant Chief Christopher Hodgden and FF/Driver Jeff Urbanik traveled in engine 3 to Dublin (Harford Co, MD) to attend the dedication of the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company's House 2.
As the colder months approach, if not already, homes will be heated by oil furnaces, wood stoves, coal stoves, etc. Many of these heating devices are capable of putting off a toxic gas known as carbon monoxide, if not maintained properly.
On Tuesday August 31 our long distance responses began. Tanker 5-13 was dispatched to assist Highville Sta. 6-2 with a second alarm barn fire in Manor Township. Tanker 5-13 made the response with Assistant Chief Hodgden and Captain Schwerin.
Just after midnight the RFFC, Wakefield Ambulance, and Susquehanna Valley EMS were dispatched for a vehicle accident in the area of Rte 222 and Pilotown Rd. Chief 5-13-2 arrived to find one vehicle on its side.
Wednesday evening a crew traveled to Camp Ware to talk with the kids and put on a live car burn. The evening started with James Rogers Sr. talking to the kids about fire safety and prevention. After he was done a PA state police arson dog showed off his skills in a series of demonstrations.
On Monday a crew spent a few hours assisting the state police with their annual camp cadet program. Engine 5-13-5 setup the landing zone for Skycare for them to show off their fairly new helicopter and answer questions the kids might have.
In the morning hours of August 3rd crews were dispatched to assist station 5-8 (Rawlinsville Fire Company) on a brush fire at the Pinnacle Overlook. Crews spent hours extinguishing the football field size fire.

On Sunday July 25 at 15:13 hrs the Robert Fulton Fire Company, Union Fire Company of Oxford, Community Fire Company of Rising Sun, and the Wakefield Ambulance Assoc. were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire at 303 Kirks Mill Road in Little Britain Township.
On July 10th, crews responded to a two vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection in front of the station (routes 272 and 222.) Rescue 5-13 made the response. Crews assisted with hazards and traffic control.
At 14:40 hours on July 6th the company was dispatched for a vehicle fire in Little Britain township. Engine 5-13-1 arrived to find a smoldering fire in the air cleaners of a well drilling truck. They were able to remove the filters and extinguish the fire with the trashline causing minimal damage.
