Yesterday was a busy day for the company starting at 1:25 pm the company was alerted for a hunter clinging to his overturned kayak on the susquahanna river. The rescue boat was launched and was able to safely get the hunter to shore where he was loaded in to Wakefield ambulance for care. The boat then was able to retrieve the hunters deer and return it to shore.
A little after 7pm the company responded to assist Quarryville fire company for a cabin on fire at Yogi Bear campground. Engine 89-3 setup a fill site while tanker 89 assisted with water supply.
At 10:06 pm the station responded to an investigation after a carbon monoxide detector activated. Company recommended shut off utilities and contact a certified technician.
A big thank you to station 53 and 58 for assisting with the water rescue and good job to all the crews for responding to a wide array of calls. We train for everything because you never know when the calls come in what we will see.
