Saturday, August 13th, 2011
At 10:31 AM Robert Fulton Volunteers along with units from the Wakefield Ambulance Assoc. and SVEMS unit 7-7-9 were dispatched for a farm rescue in the 200 block of Balance Meeting Road in Little Britain Township.
Chief 5-13 (R. Glick) went responding and was advised by Lancaster County-Wide Communications that they had received a 911 call reporting a male had possibly been ran over by a piece of farm machinery.
While Rescue 5-13 (Assist Chief Hodgden W/9), Engine 5-13-3 (Lt. Stoltzfus W/4), and Engine 5-13-5 (FF Rodgers W/3) all were responding, Chief 5-13 arrived and advised 911 of one patient down in a field and requested a helicopter be dispatched. This request brought Maryland State Police Trooper 1 to the scene.
All units and personnel worked quickly to treat and stabilize the patient in preparation for the flight to the hospital.
All units cleared the scene at 11:21 AM.
