At 8:36 AM this morning, Boat 5-13 was dispatched to assist the Quarryville Fire Company for a water rescue at the intersection of Hollow Road and Woods Drive in Providence Township.
Lancaster County-Wide Communications advised all responding units that they had received a report of a single occupant in a mini van that had become stuck in the high water at that intersection.
Medic 7-7-9 arrived on scene moments later and determined that the occupant and vehicle were no longer in danger and recalled the assignment.
Boat 5-13 went available at 8:52 AM

Heavy rain destroyed a bridge on Balance Mill Road in Little Britain Township. The bridge, which carries the occupants of seven homes as well as the electricity to the small community just off of Camp Road, was completely wash away by the raging flood waters late Friday evening.
