Large Tree into the Dwelling in Little Britain Township.
Monday, September 5th, 2011
8:44 PM The Robert Fulton Fire Company was dispatched to 18 Fairmount Road in Little Britain Township for a tree on a house.
Chief 5-13 (R. Glick) made the response and was advised by Lancaster County 911 that they had received a call from the occupants of the residence, reporting that a large tree had fallen onto his home. The caller stated that everybody was safe but he would like the fire company to respond out and confirm the home to be safe from any further structural damage.
Engine 5-13-3 (Asst. Hodgden W/5) arrived next and was instructed to check for structural integrity to confirm the home was safe to work around before heading to the roof with salvage tarps. While Engine 3’s crew was tarping the roof to prevent further water damage, Rescue 5-13’s crew (Lt. Stoltzfus W/5), went inside to deenergize the dwelling and cover any affected areas with additional salvage tarps. Engine 5-13-5’s crew (Lt. Schwerin W/4) assisted the exterior crews with securing the roof area.
All units cleared the scene at 9:36 PM.
