At 5:37 PM today the Robert Fulton Fire Company along with EMS units from Wakefield Ambulance Association (Ambulance 5-13-1) and SVEMS Medic 7-7-9 were dispatched to a vehicle accident in the area of the 2000 block of Robert Fulton Highway in Fulton Township.
Deputy 5-13 (R. Sample) and Ambulance 5-13-1 both responded simultaneously and were advised by Lancaster County-Wide Communications that they had received a 911 call reporting the possibility of two vehicles involved, with one of the drivers having a medical emergency and another person being struck by a vehicle.
Deputy 5-13 arrived on location and confirmed a two vehicle accident, one pulling a pop up camper and the other pulling an open trailer, and one female down on the roadway.
Rescue 5-13 (Asst. Chief Hodgden W/5) arrived soon after and was instructed to secure the vehicles. Engine 5-13-3 (Lt. Stoltzfus W/3) arrived on scene a couple minutes later and was instructed to go available on scene.
A total of three adults and two children were involved in the crash. One adult with the pre-crash medical emergency and another adult, who was struck and ran over, were transported to the hospital.
After the patients were packaged and in route to the hospital, the PSP Trooper on scene requested rescue and engine 3’s crews separate the two vehicles and their trailers from each other. This was accomplished by lifting one of the pickups up high enough so as to be able to remove the camper from under it.

All Station 5-13 units cleared the scene at 6:44 PM.
