At 7:24 PM the Robert Fulton Fire Company along with boats from Water Witch Fire Company (Cecil County Boat 7), Darlington Volunteer Fire Company (Harford County Boat 954) and Rawlinsville Volunteer Fire Company (Boat 5-8), along with an ambulance from the Wakefield Ambulance Assoc. and a Medic from SVEMS, were dispatched to 177 Quarry Road in Fulton Township for a water rescue.
Deputy 5-13 (R. Sample) responded and was advised by Lancaster County 911 that they had received a call from the occupant at that residence. The caller stated that she along with two small children were unable to get out of their modular home due to rising flood waters.
Deputy 5-13 arrived soon behind the ambulance and confirmed the home was surrounded by water. While talking with several other local home owners in the area, the water started receding rapidly. Deputy 5-13 then determined that within a few moments the water should be low enough that the boat crew would be able to walk the occupants safely out of the home on foot. Also at this time Deputy 5-13 recalled all other responding units.
Before clearing the scene, Lt. Appel and his crew depowered the home as well as secured the propane tank.
All units cleared the scene at 7:54PM.
